Awards Criteria

Global GLEC Conference seeks to recognize the strong and effective participation and leadership with our value of education, leadership and partnership within an academic environment. Awards can be an important part of a conference, all youth should make sure to thoroughly enjoy their experiences, engage fully in debate, and meet and work with teammates.


Any awardees are invited to the youth education program hosted by Hope to the Future Association, and will be presented at Closing Ceremonies.

  1. Participation will be evaluated both through participation in the form of speeches, but also through leading debate, sending private messages, engaging with other students and the staff, and leading communications.
  2. Participation will also be evaluated based on the participant's ability to contribute in a written format, especially for writing papers and resolutions.
  3. Skills will not solely be evaluated on knowledge and fluency in the debate session, but in public speaking and teamwork as well.
  4. Any evaluation will be made relative to using age-based scores considering the performance based on age standards.
  5. All evaluation materials will remain confidential to the Global GLEC Conference Secretariat, and will not be shared or discussed with anyone ahead of the closing ceremony or thereafter.

Number of awardee: 1 (one)

Prize: Publication in the GGC Final Report with a special certificate by Park Soo-Gil, Honorary President of World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA)

Winner Benefit: All academic and financial support for local education expenses for ‘United Nations Headquarters Youth Outreach Program (January 2023, 9 Nights/11 Days, New York or Geneva, travel expenses excluded)

Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility

  1. Only winners from the Global Leadership English Challenge (GLEC Korea, Vietnam, India, China, and Japan) are eligible for the conference.
  2. SDGs Group Discussion distinguishes participants in middle school and high school, and students under Grade 6 or over Grade 12 must participate as an observer.
  3. If a participant acts in a way that does not align with the mission and core values of Global GLEC Conference or in a way that is deemed detrimental to the conference's quality and philosophy, the Global GLEC Conference reserves the right to reject and/or expel them.
  4. If a student is found to be ineligible for the conference or has behavior that is found to be destructive to the conference, they will be dismissed without refund.
    Those behaviors include, but are not limited to:
    Inappropriate use of social media
    Disruptive conduct during the session
    Any abusive drug or alcohol use during the session
    Any violation of conference conduct
    Any behaviors or expressions showing discrimination in any form
  5. The Certificate of Completion will be provided only to those who attend at least 80% of the program.

2. Privacy and Intellectual Property

  1. Global GLEC Conference reserves the right to utilize all data submitted by individuals and to collect data in the forms of photographs or videos during the conference without limitations.
  2. All participants agree that no data, results, and materials for use in Global GLEC Conference will be disseminated by means of publications, reports, conferences, or any other form without the express written consent from GLEC of which these products, data, results, and materials are its exclusive property.
  3. GLEC and Global GLEC Conference reserve the right to update and change information on the official website, conference program, and social media platforms without further notice.

3. Code of Conduct

  1. All participants hereby are certified by completing the online registration process that every information submitted is truthful and accurate. The participant understands that falsification of any information provided will disqualify him or her from participation in Global GLEC Conference and future GLEC activities, and falsification of information or impersonation will result in legal actions.
  2. All participants agree to accept and abide by the Code of Conduct published ahead of the conference and decided by the Global GLEC Conference Secretary-General.
